Tarjoan sävellysopetustani työhuoneellani Helsingissä tai Zoomissa mistä päin maailmaa tahansa! Ammattitaitoni keskiössä on partituurimusiikin eli notatoidun musiikin säveltäminen.
Kanssani voit opiskella joko lyhyinä tehopaketteina esim. yksittäisen teoksen parissa tai pitkäjänteisemmin omien sävellystaitojen ja taiteilijuuden kehittämiseksi. Minulle sävellyksen opettajana tärkeintä on kuunnella opiskelijaa ja hänen ääntään – etenemme siis opiskelijan oman tyylin ja estetiikan rajoissa. Opetuksen keskiössä on oppilaslähtöisyys. Eräs oppilaani, jota opetin muutamia kertoja Zoomissa, kuvaili minua opettajana näin:

Minulla on kokemusta monenlaisten säveltäjien kanssa työskentelystä vasta-alkajista ammattiopintoihin hakeutuviin. Tarjoan myös oikoluku- ja nuottigrafiikkapalveluita säveltäjille. Ota yhteyttä, niin sovitaan sopivasta aikataulusta ja korvauksesta. Sävellystä opiskellaan useimmiten viikoittain, mutta joskus esim. tunnit kahden viikon välein voivat olla työskentelytahdin kannalta järkevämpi ratkaisu.

I offer composition lessons at my study in Helsinki or via Zoom from anywhere in the world! Composing of score music or notated music is at the centre of my professionalism.
With me, you can study either in short periods, for example, focusing on an individual work or over a longer period of time, aiming at longer-term development of your own compositional skills and artistry. For me, as a teacher of composition, the most important thing is to listen to the student and their voice — so we proceed within the limits of the student's own style and aesthetic. One of my students, who I taught a few times at Zoom, described me as a teacher this way:

I have experience working with a wide range of composers, from students just beginning their journey with composition all the way to students applying for professional studies. I also offer proofreading and music engraving services to composers. Contact me and we can discuss on an appropriate schedule and compensation. Composition is most often studied on a weekly basis, but sometimes, for example, lessons every two weeks might be a more reasonable working pace.
